Weekly: Realistic Fiction

Long ago, people believed in Greek mythology. All the gods and Olympians were real to them. But no one really knew if these figures really did exist. Aphrodite was the goddess of love and beauty. Her glamor was the only quality that others saw. Apollo was the God of light and archery. He is Artemis’s twin brother. Apollo is described as a very handsome young God. Dionysus was the God of wine, he was known for his drinking and gourmet habit. Although this God may drink a lot, he is very powerful when needed. Hades the God of the underworld. He is the son of Kronos, who is also dark and seeks to destroy Olympus. Hermes the God of messages has winged feet and travels and drops mail to each God. Poseidon is the God of the sea. He controls all creatures below the sea. He is one of the main three Gods along with Zeus and Hades. Zeus is the leader of the Gods, married to his sister Hera; he controls weather and the sky. He is usually seen with a lightning bolt in his hand. Hera was the wife and sister of Zeus. She is the Goddess of Marriage and is known for her jealousy, mostly against her husband, Zeus. Demeter is the goddess of harvest. Athena is the Goddess of wisdom and war. She has a lot of Goddess qualities that others lack. Artemis is the Goddess of animals and Hunting. She is the twin sister of Apollo. Ares is the god of war craft. Known for his courage, Ares is very gruesome. Last main God is Hephaestus. He was known for the God of technology. Most Gods (higher power) asked him to make metal and armor for them. He lived as a blacksmith for the Gods.
