It's Been Longer than a While

Hey guys it's Alex from...muffins are tasty?

I think its safe to say its been about SEVEN MONTHS since my last post on this blog. And I think I need to tell you why that is:

You know when you look back at something you did last year, or the year before that, (or just anytime besides the present basically), and you cringe at how embarrassing something you did, or wore or said? Well that's kind of me right now. Every time I watch one of my old YouTube videos or read an old blog post I wrote about sour yogurt, I kind of die a little inside. So, naturally, the easiest thing for me to do about this was avoid it. Not post anything.

Since I started making YouTube videos and blog posts when I was in the 5th/6th grade, and its been over 3 years since my first entry on this blog, of course I've changed since that time period. Don't worry, I am still crazily in love with muffins and still crazy, weird and an awkward person per usual, but I'm at a blank. I'm at a blank of because I don't know what to post and what to make. This is most likely because I've honestly been investing most of my time on things like tumblr. (insert awkward emoji here).

Although tumblr has a completely different layout than original blog creators like blog spot, it is what I am doing in my time period right now. (This usually just consists of me confined in my bedroom, scrolling down my dashboard for hours at a time). Nonetheless I actually create content on my tumblr, and get more feedback on there than I ever imagined I would.

I would love to give you the link of my tumblr, but I don't know which one to give you because I have a comedy one that I haven't touched in a millennium, (I literally think it was the Mesopotamian era) and I have a fandom one, which if anyone ever finds, I'm going to light myself on fire, so...as you can see I'm in a sticky situation.

I've also had the usual teenage dilemma of balancing school work, with my job (yes, I, Alex have a job), as well as preparing/playing sports. (not plural, I really just play tennis). I also rarely get free-time and when I do, I spend it practicing guitar or free-writing.  Overall, it's been really hard for me to sit down and spew off ideas for what to make on this blog and on my YouTube.

When everything in your life is moving so fast, it's often hard to realize how much time has actually passed. I almost screamed out loud when I read the date: September 22nd, 2013, because I couldn't believe that was my last blog-post before this one, and that time went by so quickly. I guess that's kind of cliche, but it's completely true...well at least for me.

I'm not at all saying I'm never going to post on this blog again, but I am saying it may take me a while to get new ideas. For me, ideas don't always just pop out of nowhere and give me this strive for inspiration. It sometimes takes me weeks, or months to come up with something that actually makes sense and that's not something stupid like 'Bananas aren't yellow after all'. And I know it has been 7 months already, and you probably think I'm the laziest person ever (I ain't denying) but once again, I just didn't want to post content I, myself, wasn't satisfied with because I genuinely didn't have any inspiration for videos or posts at all during those months.

If you want, stick around and see what happens, because honestly I would love to see what happens as well.

Thank you if you're still reading this,

-Alex

Two Important Things

Hi guys it's Alex from Muffins are Tasty and I have two important things to bring up.

One: Tumblr. I can't believe I didn't have one before. But, it seriously is great. If you don't have one, go make one because it is like the best invention life has.

Two: Sherlock. Sherlock is a TV series on BBC that is....perfection.  I mean it's great for the female population...because have you seen them?!British men who solve cases...yep I'm sold. But,  don't get me wrong , you fellows out there will love it too because who doesn't love a show that is based off the original Sherlock Holmes?  The link to watch the series is under the pages section on the blog. Check it out!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer (A.K.A. LIFE)

Hi guys it's Alex from 'Muffins are Tasty' and as some of you know, I just happen to be a tad bit obsessed with the show 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer'. It all started in Ms. Gray's class this year when we had MCAS.  Instead of letting us all slowly shrivel up and die by letting our brains explode of too much knowledge, she was more than kind enough to let us watch Buffy for three day's straight, because she knew how exhausted we were from the testing. And I think I speak for all of my class-mates when I say...IT'S THE BEST SHOW ON THE EARTH. LIKE BUFFY AND ANGEL=ASJDJKLDFHJ PERFECTION. Sorry I think my teenage self just took over, but you won't know what exactly I'm talking about until you watch! So go on teenagers of the world...or just the two people that may be reading this...Go watch Buffy!
(Recommendations for where to watch Buffy):
-Netflix if you have it
-You can try YouTube but I can't guarantee every episode is on there
-Project Free Tv has ALL the episodes of every season, but before you go on the site here are some key things to know:
-Project Free Tv has tons of ad's that can get annoying and cause harm to your computer...so make sure you DOWNLOAD POP UP BLOCKER (this wont give you any virus's and in fact protect your computer from ad's that can make your computer worsen in speed, etc.)
-ONLY STREAM. DO NOT DOWNLOAD. If you download the episodes there is a risk that you can get virus's. So just watch them.
-To get to the site just click the page I created: Project Free TV: Link to Buffy  (you can click on the text and it will take you directly there)
Thanks as always guys and...go watch Buffy! (down below is the season one opening theme song)

Summer...is Almost Over

Hi guys it's Alex from 'Muffins Are Tasty' and...whoa there, wait what's the title of this post? Yes, unfortunately, Summer is in fact coming to an end. (insert dramatic screams of terror here). But fortunately enough, most of the people viewing the blog are entering High-School for the first time as Freshman! So my question for you is simple: Are you scared for High-School or are you excited? (even feeling mixed is fine). I, personally, feel scared, yet excited as well. Excited because even though it involves this weird thing called learning things and suffering in a horrible place for seven hours every day, I get to see my friends, as well as enjoy some of the classes I actually really do love learning about. But I also feel nervous/scared because of the new teachers and the new atmosphere in general. Everyone says High-School is the most important 4 YEARS OF YOUR LIFE. And that scares me just a wee-bit. Parents always say "This determines where you go to college...which determines your career...which determines your life!" so of course the immediate reaction for a 14-year-old is to lock themselves in their panic room and cradle themselves back and forth. Well, maybe not that...but the initial reaction is to be a bit scared and get some nerves. Why? Because most people tend to be intimidated by things that they have never experienced before! Example: Switching schools. At first your intimidated by the students because you have no idea what they're like. But, after a while you warm up to them because you get to know them. So children, hopefully, as your peers tell might have told you once before, "Oh it's not that bad!". And I think it will indeed get better after a bit, so good luck to all the freshman out there!

QUESTION: Are you scared or excited for High-School?

It's Spring....right?

Hi guys it's Alex from Muffins are Tasty and I want to tell you something embarrassing...I kind of completely forgot about this blog for a couple of months! I know I say this a lot but I was really busy with homework, tennis, family, and other things going on in my life! I'm so sorry I haven't posted since January, and to make it up to you I will fix up the blog and make it spring theme since it is now...spring! Once again I apologize!

Tell Me Why?!

Hi guys it's Alex from Muffins are Tasty and I have to ask you something very important! Do you hate it when you're going shopping (groceries, shoes, clothes, whatever floats your boat) in mid-November and all you see is Christmas decorations? Well, I know for a fact that I do. It annoys me sooooooo much!
Um, hello what about Thanksgiving? Don't Americans LOVE food?
If so why do we, let me add every single year, skip right over Thanksgiving and go right to Christmas? Seriously, it bothers me. When Halloween is going on, everyone one is super excited; decorations and costumes are popping up everywhere in stores. Then Thanksgiving is dead. No turkey and pilgrim decorations, just a huge pile of absolutely nothing.                                           What I'm asking you is 'Do you hate/dislike when people skip right over Thanksgiving and go straight to Christmas? You can answer this by voting on the poll, or, leaving a comment down below. And please do leave your honest opinion. Don't say "Urg, it annoys me as well" just because that was my opinion. I couldn't care less if you said "No you stupid idiot, life if life, move on".
P.S. I think Family is more important than candy for crying out loud. (I'm talking about Halloween not Christmas).

Cruisin' To a different Place

Hi guys, it's Alex from muffins are tasty, and  I just wanted to let all of my followers and viewers know that I will be moving to Lenox, Massachusetts in about 2 weeks. This does mean I will be attending a different school of course. But I will see you Jamestowner's every weekend. We are keeping this house in Jamestown so we have a place to go home to every weekend, so I hope to see you guys soon. I will keep you updated by uploading pictures and videos of Lenox. This does not mean "25 Days of Christmas" is cancelled. It will still premiere on December 1st. I'm not sure if I'm coming home for Christmas break, or any other breaks. But what ever house I'm at the series will still premiere.
 Keep you posted,
Alex

We're Winging It!

Today in writers club, Abby B. and I looked around the room and saw no one but ourselves and Mrs. D. We were devastated. Everything we worked for was gone in a flash, We had no clue what to do about the newspaper because it never got finished. That's when Abby and I got a brilliant idea. We decided to wing it. Abby put in her story about Lawn Ave. and I wrote a story about my muffin ninja's and I, and that was mainly it. We came to the conclusion that if no one helped us, why would we put our stories in for them, and edit, and publish all by ourselves. Well we ended up almost done with editing and publishing, but we did put in our stories. It is only about 4 pages long and has only me and Abby B's stories in it. I hope you enjoy our VERY rushed issue of the new titled newspaper... "The Muffin News".

Nanowrimo

This looks a bit weird. Looking at the title and saying that word. Is it a word? Or is it many? Those are the questions. Nanowrimo really means National Novel Writing Month. The title decribes it all. Every November thousands of eager writers participate in a world wide event. Writers are challenged to write a 50,000 word novel in less than a month or in one month. For the young writers program (ywp) you have to write about 2,000-5,000 words a day. This could range from two pages to six pages. Once you complete your book (if you did) they will give you a proof copy of your book. When you receive this novel you created it will look like an ordinary book, except it can't be sold in stores and is not fully published. YOU get to design all of the fonts, cover and other book detail. So stop reading this post and start writing!
( you must start writing in November, if you write now it would be considered cheating)

Finished and showcased...

Finally my movie, "The Clue in the Muffin" was fully edited (much approved) and showcased at the Jamestown Art Center on May 19th. We did have audio problems while there but it was fine for playback on my computer. So I would like to thank all cast members involved. Including Callie, Robert, Paris, Matt, Jacob, Emma, the Drummond's and Kenny. You all helped me with my movie and for that I will be forever thankful. Jk not really... but you catch my drift ya'll.

Happy Easter

Hi guys, its apparently Easter so... Happy Easter! I'm having bacon, muffins, eggs, toast and a bunch of candy, sign me up for the biggest loser! I really wanted to thank my parents for candy but in a sense I'm gonna be really fat and have a bad dentist appointment so not really thanks!

April Friends or Fools?

Seriously I think April Friends day is ...lame. No offense, though. Its not like I agree with bullying, but I don't think they should say "Oh ummm... people get hurt on April fools day". I don't think so. I think they should have "National Stop Bullying Day" on the 4th, because bullying is a seriously important matter. But to put it on the day kids look forward to the most, is kind of crushing F-U-N. I do really care about bullying and hate when people do, but teachers please move it to another date!

What Month is it?

Apparently people do like muffins, so spread some sprit around! For it is now official yogurt and muffins month.

I know I am usually obsessed with muffins, but for some odd reason it felt like everyone hates muffins. So today and for the rest of the week is the official YOGURT WEEK. Post on the blog of stories or poems about any type of yogurt. If enough people like muffins I will make it muffin month.

To add a little more fun to this awesome month, it will also be "Mini Movie month". Publish mini movies onto the blog by adding a comment to this post. To post a movie you must post the link. If you posted it on Google buzz then use that link or YouTube will work but I don't think you can use any HTML pasting...

Any poems, movies, or muffin talk should be under this post.

(This month is yogurt, muffin and mini movie month)
